Greetings!
Our names our Marie, Joe, and
Steph, and we’re “Remotely Entertaining” – or rather we hope to be remotely
entertaining, or mildly amusing, or at the very least somewhat enjoyable. We
chose that name – the origin story is courtesy of a brainstorming session –
because of its many layers (we’re complex people, yo) and how that speaks to
what we are trying to do with this blog.
We want to talk about entertainment
– some, but not all, of which involves the use of a remote – and we wish to be
entertaining in the way we go about doing that. But we also don’t want to oversell
our entertainment value. We’re humble folk in that way, so we loved that
“remotely” was also a qualifier (modifier?) of just how entertaining we may be at
times. “Oh, are you guys massively entertaining?” you might ask us and we would
reply “Oh no, we’re just remotely entertaining” meaning that we are
entertaining in the slightest degree and also, that is our name. See, LAYERS!!!
Oh, and “remotely” also describes
the three of us geographically: one of us (lucky bastard) is Orlando, Florida-based,
one in Austin, Texas and one of us is in Maryland. Try to figure out which and
you win a (metaphorical) lollipop!
